Applied Kinesiology (AK)

Dr George Goodheart (USA) introduced a system of diagnostic muscle tests already in 1963. He originally considered this Applied Kinesiology (AK) as an addition to osteopathic or chiropractic diagnostics.

Success in top sports

In the meantime, AK has developed into an evaluation of nerves and functions through provocation. The method owes its success in top sports to  the pioneering work by famous colleagues such as Jean-Pierre Meersseman, Joe Shafer (both AC Milan consultants), David Leaf (New York Patriots) and their study group. Prof. Daniel Berckmans at the University of Louvain (Belgium) provided AC Milan with scientific support to convert AK data into an athlete’s readiness score.

Isolated muscle tests combined with an expert interpretation allow the kinesiologist to detect important health-improving details, or to cure problems faster and more completely. The most recent developments in this field reveal whether you are ready for a top performance in a safe manner (readiness concept).

Substantiated and innovative

Frédéric Van Burm’s practice aims at being one of the driving forces behind the integration of osteopathy in sports, together with the International Academy of Osteopathy. This college provides the educational platform to bring muscle test diagnostics to a higher, scientifically substantiated standard. Every professional osteopath or chiropractor can take its innovative courses.
